Montgomery, Ala. – Despite leading by as many as four runs, Texas Southern fell to Alabama State Hornets 10-7 on Friday. Texas Southern collected 14 hits and Alabama State Hornets had 12 in the high-scoring affair.
Texas Southern opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Texas Southern first got on the board when Jaden Jones singled, scoring one run. Texas Southern added one run in the second. Damian Garcia singled to center field, making the score 3-0.
Alabama State Hornets flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the eighth, scoring seven runs on six hits to take the lead, 10-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kyler McIntosh on the sixth pitch of the at-bat that drove in two.
