Kelton Phillips hit for the cycle to carry Texas Southern to a 19-10 victory over Grambling State Tigers on Sunday. Phillips hit an inside-the-park home run in the sixth inning, doubled in the second inning, tripled in the first inning, and doubled in the fourth inning.
Texas Southern collected 15 hits and Grambling State Tigers had 15 in the high-scoring affair.
Texas Southern got on the board in the top of the first inning after Bryce Hughes grounded out, and Damian Garcia homered to left field, each scoring one run. Texas Southern added two runs in the second after Phillips doubled to center field. A single by Jonathan Trejo gave Texas Southern the lead, 6-5, in the top of the third.
