A strong defensive effort midway through the first half sparked a big first half run as TSU claimed a 100-66 win over Texas A&M-San Antonio Monday night at the Fertitta Center.
Playing their second game in three days, the Tigers started out a little slow and the Jaguars took full advantage as they were red hot from beyond the three-point line within the first 8:19. TAMUSA was 9-of-15 from the field and 6-of-10 from beyond the arc as they claimed an early 26-21 lead.
The Tiger defense finally woke up over the final minutes as they outscored TAMUSA 27-11 over the final 9:15. Kavion McClain led the Tigers with seven points during that span as the TSU defense finally stifled the Jaguars as they finished the final 9:15 minutes of the half…
