Football Adds Three To 2020 Recruiting Class

Texas Southern head coach Clarence McKinney announced the addition of three student-athletes to its 2020 recruiting class on Wednesday.

Similar to the early signing period in December, the Tigers focused on the defensive side of the ball as a pair of versatile Houston ISD standouts will join the program in addition to a highly-rated longsnapper.

In December, TSU signed 11 student-athletes as the state of Texas remains the foundation for the program with a total of 12 signees from the state.

		Michael Buchanan, Jr. (Highlights) Linebacker 6-1, 210 Houston, Texas (Wheatley) Played both ways in high school…four-year varsity letterwinner…projected to play linebacker at TSU…named second team all-district at running back in 2019…also earned all-district honors at linebacker as a junior…a track athlete that helped his 800-meter relay team advance to the Texas Class 4A State Meet in 2019.
		Lance Clark (Highlights) Defensive Back 6-0, 170 Houston, Texas (Furr) Versatile athlete who played on both sides of the ball…2019 District 12-4A Offensive MVP…played quarterback and led his team in both rushing and passing as a senior…also played defensive back and led his team in interceptions.
		Isaac Garcia (Highlights) Longsnapper 6-1, 200 Fort Worth, Texas (Paschal) 2019 District 4-6A Special teams Player of the Year…special teams MVP on his team…rated 30th nationally (longsnappers) and a 4 1/2 star recruit by Kohl’s Kicking.
